The match
With defending champions Argentina sealing their place as group winners, Austria will qualify for the knockout phase as Group J runners-up (and meet the Group H winners in the Round of 32 in Los Angeles on 2 July) if they avoid defeat against Algeria. Meanwhile, Algeria will finish as runners-up if they beat Austria.
The Fennecs will be after revenge after Austria qualified for the second group stage at the 1982 FIFA World Cup Spain™ at their expense. Algeria are aiming to make it past the opening round for the first time since Brazil 2014 — their last appearance at the global finals — while Austria will be looking to repeat their efforts from Spain 1982.
The third-place finisher could potentially face the winner of Group B, D, G, K, or L.
