The match

An historic clash awaits in Atlanta, as Morocco and Haiti prepare to cross swords for the very first time. The match will bring their Group C campaigns to a close.

On the heels of their Qatar 2022 semi-final finish, Morocco have enjoyed an unbeaten start in 2026 with an opening 1-1 draw against giants Brazil and hard-fought 1-0 win over Scotland. Despite a 1-0 and 3-0 losses to Scotland and Brazil, Haiti have been valiant in their first global finals since 1974. The Caribbean side are eliminated, but Morocco still have plenty to play for and can advance with a result. They could also claim top spot in the group under various scenarios.

The side which tops this section will face the second-placed team from Group F in Houston, while the nation which finishes second will face off with the winners of Group F in Monterrey. If the third-placed side in the group qualify as one of the eight best, they have potential meetings with the top teams from either groups A, E or I in Mexico City, Boston or New York New Jersey, respectively.

What they said…

“We’re in second place and we might qualify, but we have to win. The goal is always to perform well. We want to finish first in the group. We want to win the game. That’s what matters most”. Mohamed Ouahbi, Morocco coach

“This is an important game for us and for our continued growth as a team. We need to approach this game differently than we did the first few games. We know what we want”. Munir, Morocco goalkeeper

“We have an opportunity to be in the best possible scenario despite being eliminated. We’ve suffered two losses, but our real defeat would be to give up. It’s also a great opportunity to test ourselves against a formidable opponent”. Sebastien Migne, Haiti coach
