Mexico is set to do something no other nation has done: host a FIFA World Cup for a third time.
Lady Luck has proven to be on Mexico’s side both times they have played on home soil. Now, as they gear up to co-host the FIFA World Cup 2026, El Tri will hope the third time brings them success like never before.
After quarter-final finishes at the home editions in 1970 and 1986, Mexico arrive at this year’s global football showpiece, hoping to replicate the success of their 2025 CONCACAF Gold Cup campaign.
Drawn in Group A, Mexico will kick off the tournament against South Africa – in a recap of the 2010 edition’s opener – before facing the Republic of Korea and Czechia.
