The two-time World Cup runners-up have qualified for the first time since 2006 and will take on co-hosts Mexico in Group A.
After a 20-year absence, Czechia are back at the FIFA men’s World Cup.
The two-time runners-up secured their return to the top table of international football in dramatic style, beating the Republic of Ireland and then Denmark in the playoffs, both in penalty shootouts.
Those games were also Czechia’s first under new manager Miroslav Koubek, who succeeded Ivan Hasek in December 2025.
Now Koubek’s task is to navigate a World Cup group containing co-hosts Mexico, as well as the Republic of Korea and South Africa.
