The match

After defeating Croatia 4-2 and securing a goalless draw with Ghana, England conclude their FIFA World Cup 2026™ Group L campaign by taking on Panama in a repeat of their Russia 2018 encounter. The Three Lions are assured of a top-three finish in the group but need another positive result to ensure their progress to the Round of 32. Panama, meanwhile, will not be able to progress after defeats to Ghana and Croatia.

The winners of Group L will go on to face a third-placed team from groups E, H, I, J or K in Atlanta, while Group L’s runners-up head to Toronto to meet the side finishing second in Group K. Should the third-placed nation from Group L progress, they will meet the winners of Group K in Kansas City.

What they said…

“First of all, respect to Harry Kane. I think we’ve changed a lot since the last time England faced Panama eight years ago. Now we have to show that on the pitch tomorrow. We need to build on what we’ve done in our first two matches against Ghana and Croatia, even though we know this will be a very tough challenge. I believe this team will be able to compete and put in a good performance.” Thomas Christiansen, Panama coach
