The 2026 FIFA World Cup marks Jordan’s highly anticipated debut, as they gear up to go shoulder-to-shoulder with the world’s best teams, two and a half years after finishing runners-up at the AFC Asian Cup.
As they prepare to board the plane to the United States, coach Jamal Sellami has called on his players to emulate the brilliance of his home nation Morocco, who stunned the sporting world with their semi-final run at the last World Cup.
Beginning their 2026 campaign in Group J, Jordan will face Austria followed by Algeria, before playing against reigning world champions Argentina in what could be the biggest match in the Arab nation’s history.
