Can Xhaka, Embolo and Ndoye help Switzerland overcome quarter-final hurdle?

Competing at their sixth straight men’s World Cup, the Schweizer Nati are in Group B alongside Canada, Qatar & Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The last time Switzerland played a FIFA men’s World Cup in the USA, they were ending a 28-year tournament drought.

Now they return as one of Europe’s most consistent forces in a sixth consecutive appearance, having topped their qualification group unbeaten.

Switzerland have qualified for as many World Cups since 2006 as they did in the previous 68 years. But despite the active golden generation, they have not reached the quarter-finals since 1954.

The Schweizer Nati are in Group B alongside co-hosts Canada, 2022 hosts Qatar and European counterparts Bosnia and Herzegovina.
