After a number of near misses, the Three Lions will be desperate to finally land some silverware for their success-starved supporters.
It has now been 60 years since England last won the FIFA World Cup.
In the intervening years, they have twice reached the semi-finals, in 1990 and 2018. But their victory on home soil in 1966 remains their sole triumph.
England have also had a number of recent near misses in the European Championship, losing the final of both Euro 2020 and Euro 2024.
So, only silverware will satisfy the success-starved supporters of the Three Lions, who qualified for their eighth successive World Cup by winning all eight of their matches without conceding.
